What the research looked at

Each line is one body of research, graded A (strong) to D (weak). How we grade evidence. What each study measured is explained in your personal plan.

GradeWho was studiedReferences
A Adults with elevated LDL
  • Jovanovski E et al. Am J Clin Nutr 2018 (meta-analysis)
B Adults with elevated glucose
  • Gibb RD et al. Am J Clin Nutr 2015 (meta-analysis)
C Adults with overweight
  • Jovanovski E et al. Eur J Nutr 2021;60:101-12 (viscous fibre meta-analysis; PMID 32198674)

How much

  • Our plans usually use 5 g a day for adults. The exact dose depends on your lab results, age and medicines.
  • Children's doses are set by age, and some ingredients are for adults only.

Medicines and other supplements

  • Take with care. Psyllium can reduce absorption of medicines; take medicines 2 hours before or after.

Your plan is checked against every medicine you tell us about. If you take a medicine, ask your pharmacist or doctor before starting a new supplement.
